Mamma Mia - Thanks!

From the children of The East West Overseas Aid Foundation, many, many thanks for attending 'Mamma Mia - the Movie' on 10 July.

The evening was a 'hoot'; everyone was buzzing; dollars were raised; friends were made; and there are even reports people 'sang' all the way home!

What fun!

Harvard Business School on Meditation

It may be some time before meditation makes it to the mainstream of corporate life (although research at Harvard Business School has concluded that "meditation and intuition are the two most valuable executive tools for the 21st century"), but it is quite certain that there are corporate visionaries this very minute who are seeking out-of-the-box creative leadership methods.

Today, executive meditation practitioners and teachers are overcoming the old associated images of “yogis in saffron robes” as the only icons of meditation. They are complementing them with the image of a clear-thinking corporate consultant who brings creative leadership and a subtle, yet powerful means of improving corporate communications, as well as having a positive impact on individual and corporate lives.

Now, where are the corporate visionaries who are ready to sign up their management team for meditation classes?

So many students comment on how much they enjoy the readings and the information that I pass on during our yoga classes. They are thankful for the knowledge and insight into the practice.

In many ways, yoga in the 21st century in Australia has been stripped back to the posture practice (which many mistakenly define as exercise). Many students do not receive even a basic understanding of yoga.

Of course yoga is an individual practice and the learning is experiential in so many forms. However, there are many guidelines when embarking upon this road and a lifetime of knowledge to be accumulated, explored and embraced.

Each time you tap into 'In the Moment', you will be able to deepen your understanding and learn about yoga and its many dimensions. We will explore its history; relevance in the 21st century; body-mind connection; purpose; philosophy; psychology; physiology; diet and more.

Each article will take between 3-5 minutes to read. In that time you may learn something that totally changes or validates your perspective on what essentially is a phenomenal approach to 'wellness'.

Remember:

Yoga is a way of life....not just an episode within it.

As A Man Thinketh... Top
As A Man Thinketh...

'As a Man Thinketh’ was written in 1902 by John Allen and has sold in the millions. It is a tiny book with enormous impact and has been one of the greatest influences for authors and philosophers alike, such as Napolean Hill and his contemporary Anthony Robbins.

I carry many of the words with me and refer to them often in my classes especially when referrring to leadership and the power of thought.

The following words could be deemed as my personal mantra:

"A calm, strong man is loved and revered. For when he is calm he ceases to fuss, and fume and worry and grieve, and instead remains poised, steadfast and serene. The more tranquil a man becomes, the greater his success, his influence, his power for good".

“Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail"

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Afterthought:

In the time it has taken you to read this you have possibly breathed easier, grown taller, reflected, imagined, relaxed, visualized, and honoured beauty.
