In a small seaside village called Kovolam, in the south of Kerala, India, you can visit a very special being Harikumar Thampi.
Hari's Ayurvedic- inspired massages and treatments make you feel unbelievably exhilarated and healthy. You will feel and look as though you have stepped back in years after experiencing his wonderful work.
Hari’s initiation into the world of Ayurveda (loosely translated as the ‘science of life’) was as a young boy in India. His father was the village ‘healer’ and Hari began to develop his skills from an early age. Following formal education at the Siva Yoga & Ayurveda Centre in Trivandrum, Hari became an Ayurvedic and Panchakarma Therapist.
If you ever visit Kerala between November and March, make sure you drop by EB Health & Beauty located in the heart of this delightful sea-side town. Or join us on the "Land of 1000 Smiles" yoga tour to India in January 2010.
Hari's philosophy is based on the Ayurvedic and Yoga principles. Eat healthy and wholesome foods; rest; quiet the mind; create a positive attitude; breathe deeply; exercise; and heal the body through treatments and massages. The Ayurveda system, which has been practiced in India for over 5000 years, includes diet and herbal remedies and emphasizes the use of the body, mind and spirit in disease prevention and treatment.
Keep watching for Hari's Ayurvedic recipes and in the meantime, the following is a gift for you...
Ginger & Lemon tea:
Add a teaspoon of freshly grated ginger to boiling water. Add a decent squeeze of lime or lemon juice. (Add a little honey to taste if you would prefer it sweet). Let it steep for a few minutes.
You can add green tea or normal tea to vary the beverage.
The Benefits:
Ginger's main benefit is to soothe the stomach and aid digestion. Some people reach for ginger when they feel a migraine coming on. It boosts circulation and calms everything from a sore throat to inflamed skin.
