Times and dates are flexible.

These courses run for four consecutive weeks and are for students who prefer to be taught on an individual or small group basis.

Meditation is an excellent tool for teens and young adults to learn. It is perhaps one of the most important aspects of one's entire life's education; a skill that propels pupils into a calm, positive and powerful future.

Meditation is a healthy and pro-active means for handling stress, anxiety and peer group pressure. It is a drug-free system for taking control of destiny; identifying purpose; initiating creativity and generating high levels of self-worth.

 Learn non-religious, simple and practical strategies to be Cool, Calm & Collected.

Ongoing meditation sessions and materials are available to sustain and intensify the practices.

Couscous...yum!

Delicious and yes, healthy as...

2 cups couscous
1 Spanish onion, finely chopped
1 roasted pumpkin cubed              
2 cups lightly steamed fresh peas
½ small preserved lemon, finely chopped 
1 cup chopped mint

Dressing: 6 parts olive oil/2 parts red wine vinegar and ground pepper                                  

Place 2 cups of water in a saucepan.  Add 1-2 tablespoons olive oil and a little salt and bring couscous to the boil.  Remove from heart.  Stir and pour in 2 cups of couscous.  Cover and allow to stand for 2-3 minutes.

Add 1 tablespoon of butter and heat again on very low heat for 3 minutes while stirring with a fork to separate the grains.

Combine all ingredients. Mix dressing. Serve warm.

Recommended for a ‘yogic diet’.  Eat on its own or as a great side dish to grilled salmon.

Serves 4 or more.

Health benefits of couscous.

Couscous is a good source of fibre.  It is virtually fat free and cooks in just 5 minutes. Oats and grains which are higher in insoluble fiber content (mainly cellulose) are digested more slowly, and are thus lower on the glycemic index, which helps to maintain more stable blood glucose levels and healthier glucose metabolism.

Yes, now would be good...

Savasana relaxes the whole psycho-physiological system.  Ideally, do this before sleep, during and after asana practise, particularly after dynamic movement such as 'Surya Namaskara' and when you feel physically and mentally tired.

Lie with your feet hip-width apart.  Your arms are long and loose by your sides.  Palms are facing up.  Fingers curl slightly.  Close your eyes. The head and spine should be in a straight line and ensure that the head does not fall to one side.  Slide your shoulders down and away from the ears.  Bring awareness to the sounds around you...and then the breath...and then the body.

Take in long quenching breaths.  On the out-breath, release any tensions held in the muscles, tendons and ligaments.

Try not to move your body at all whilst lying in Savasana as even the slightest movement will create muscular contractions.
